Showit is a web design and hosting platform that allows us to create a completely custom desktop and mobile websites for you, with a drag and drop application that requires zero coding. It integrates seamlessly with WordPress for easy blogging if you opt for a blog with your website. This blog addition also requires zero coding. Showit is simply my fave website platform.
1. Why Showit? Why not Wordpress?
2. Do you host my website?
I do not host websites. Your Showit website will be hosted directly on their servers. This gives you more freedom to do with your website as you please, meaning you own your website and it is not stuck with me until the end of time.
This also means more money in your pocket. Other designers host websites, and that's all fine and dandy until they fall off the face of the Earth and you have no idea how to access your website...there's always pros and cons, I prefer you to have full and total control of your website at all times.
3. What about my domain / website URL?
Neither Showit nor I host your domain. You will have to purchase a domain from a domain registrar and then I will connect that domain to your Showit site via DNS records as part of my design service.
Domain Registrars include but are not limited to: GoDaddy or I Want My Name
4. Why do you not work with e-commerce or shops?
While Showit has some integration for shops that have very few products (my rule of thumb is 10 products or less), I recommend utilizing a full Shopify website for products to give you the robust features you need for a successful online shop.
Though I do have experience in designing Shopify websites, that is not something I am taking on at this time.
5. What added costs can I expect?
You will need a Showit subscription that starts at $19 / month up to $39 / month.
If you do not yet have a domain purchased, you will also need to purchase that and those start around $15 / year. I recently purchased one for $18.99 to give you an idea.
I also always advise clients to have a privacy policy and terms & conditions pages on their websites. Templates from legal experts can help you find these very cost effectively to keep you safe and protected with your website.
6. Is Showit SEO friendly?
You betcha'! Showit has powerful, built-in SEO tools ready to help you rank in Google Searches.

7. Do you help me edit my website if I need help down the road?
I sure can! Though our project will come to a close when your website is launched, you may have future edits or changes needed. You can select small project packages to take the design updates off your already busy plate.
8. Do you own my website?
I do not. You own your website. You are contracting me to design your website, and once the project is completed I "hand over the keys" and it's all yours.
9. Do you have control of my website?
Nope. Just as you are the owner of your site, you also have full control of your website. Once our project is complete, you are fully in charge of your site. Can you imagine being in charge of hundreds of websites? Eek. Some designers might like that, I however have 3 kids and no time to hold your website hostage.
10. What about the security certificate (SSL)?
Ever wonder how some websites begin with http:// and some begin with https://
The "s" shows that you have the Secure Sockets Layer, also known as the SSL installed.
This does not cost you extra. I work direct with Showit to make sure your security certificate is installed prior to the launch of your new website.
11. Do you offer marketing or social media management?
Social Media Management? No. Nope. Natta.
Email Marketing, yes. Absolutely. Let me know if you also need this and I can share those service details at that time.
11. Do you offer logo or brand design?
Not at this time. No logo? No problem, we can still design a website that tells your story, what you do, and brings in clients/customers.

Honestly, you don't want me to to tinker around in SquareSpace or Wix. It's not in my wheelhouse - and I like it this way.
